nine

yesterday.  they day my first born turned nine.  nine.  sigh.  and i can still remember what he looked like as i first glanced at his little swaddled face in that hospital blanket--like it was yesterday.  it helps that his face looks just about the same as it did nine years ago :)  he hasn't changed much actually.  just a bit bigger...can hit a home run, put huge lego sets together in a matter of hours...and he eats a lot more now too.

it was a fun day.  started the day in san juan capistrano...at zoomars.  again.  he can sit and hold that guinea pig for hours...it was all he wanted to do.  in the evening we had some close friends of the family come over...i took one shot of the kids before they dispersed again into the yard...one shot.  i kind of like the fact it was just one shot and i can sit and look at all their personalities in that moment.  kate apparently had to pee, and joe's trunks were falling off all afternoon.  clara giving me her model look and lucy and ben best pals as they have been for nine years.  jake and jess--cooperating nicely to get that piece of cake they were promised.

looking forward to what the next nine have have in store.  xo

awesome - happy bday. but I really like what you said about the one shot. I've been thinking about that lots lately - with digital its easy to just go all rapid fire all day, just hoping that you catch that perfect shot. But what about the skill of waiting for that perfect shot. And what about the possibility that that perfect shot really isn't that perfect but, like you said, filled with the personalities that were alive and present in that one specific moment. I love the way you shoot because there is always that special moment captured - perfect or imperfect, it is a amazing moment filled with life.

Perfect.

happy bday again!

LOVE the photo of all the kiddos! The personality in that photo is irreplicable. May I ask which actions/presets you used for these photos?

According to my own investigation, thousands of people in the world get the loans at well known creditors. Thus, there's good possibilities to receive a secured loan in every country.

Gosh, Leah.... something just struck a chord with me reading this blog entry and I sit here in tears. I am about to welcome my first-born... a son... into this world and I think how different life will be in 9 years. I strive to be the mother to him that you are to your own babies.
